About our Nonprofit
Boise Saddle & Jump Club (BSJC) was founded in 1966 and is a membership-based, nonprofit organization providing education, horse shows and camaraderie to hunter/jumper equestrians. Within BSJC, we promote horsemanship, education, community and a passion for the sport and our equine partners. Currently, we are the only organization dedicated to the hunter jumper community in Idaho. We are based in Boise, and have seen our Treasure Valley Classic (TVC) shows have a reach across Idaho and into all of the surrounding states.
As a nonprofit, we exist to meet the hunter jumper community’s needs and strive to bring education and connection to our sport. The club generates revenue through memberships, sponsorships, and our show series. This revenue has been used to invest in our show series (i.e. new jump materials) and host events and provide scholarships for our members.
In recent years, BSJC has been growing at a rapid pace, seeing membership doubling and our reach expanding. With that, comes more opportunity and new needs. To best serve our growing community, BSJC will be expanding our current operations to now include Committees.
Each Committee will have a specific area of focus and will be led by a board member as its Chair. Each committee will have multiple positions if needed. The board has identified the current needs of the organization and created the following committees and positions. As the club grows, these roles may change and evolve.
These committee positions may be filled by a member of BSJC who is aligned with our mission and ethics and is looking for a way to contribute and give back to their local equestrian community.

She promotes horsemanship, equal participation, and enhancing the quality of life for horses and riders. Brittany is committed to fostering a supportive culture and growing the H/J community in Idaho.
Outside BSJC, Brittany owns Bristlecone Equestrian LLC, focusing on developing well-rounded horses and riders. She also works as a Practitioner Manager for Advanced Prosthetics & Orthotics, dedicated to improving her amputee patients' health and wellbeing.
Vice President, Sarah McLean
Growing up in the Treasure Valley, Sarah explored multiple equestrian disciplines before falling in love with Hunter Jumper. She pursued that passion into college, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Science and competing on the William Woods University Show Team. It was her Business Administration Minor that has equally been put to use as she has pursued entrepreneurial endeavors and supported BSJC in its operational infrastructure and growth for the past eight years.
While not currently competing, Sarah enjoys staying connected to the equestrian community through her support of BSJC. She is a true Idahoan, taking part in outdoor recreation all year round with her husband and two dogs, and stays busy managing her family’s event venue, Willow Creek Weddings & Events in Middleton, and giant breed dog brand, The Big Damn Dog Co.
Secretary, Celia Brennan
Celia grew up riding in southern CA, doing hunters, jumpers, and big Eq while training with Carol Dean-Porter. She took 15 years off to start a family and her career as a hairstylist but her love of horses always remained. Her family moved to Idaho in 2019 and she found Autumn Hills and knew she had to get back in the saddle.
She owns a sassy 6 year old mare, Walk of Fame and is looking forward to their future together. She loves being able to give back to the community, both through BSJC and a show clothing rental company she co-owns with her friend called Eq4Rent. She loves being able to help make horse showing more accessible and affordable, especially to the riders in the Treasure Valley.
Treasurer, Sara Pealy
Sara grew up riding hunters and jumpers in the Seattle area with Teri Duplass and later, Denise Youell. Family ties brought her to the Treasure Valley in 2008, where she traded her english saddle for a western one and worked on her family’s cattle ranch in Sweet, Idaho. As luck would have it, she was introduced to BSJC in 2020 and the rest, as they say, is history.
Outside of BSJC, Sara owns a four-year-old Canadian Sport Horse named Addie who is wildly opinionated and has a personality the size of Saturn. When not at the barn she can be found in the hills with her husband and their dog Wanda, or running the product team at a software startup.
Member at Large, Kortney Bahem
Kortney was born and raised on a farm in Homedale, ID. She grew up showing working cow horses and reiners. She attended college on a full-ride livestock and horse judging scholarship and also competed on a college national finals ranch horse team with her personal mare. She graduated Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Equine Science with a Reproduction Minor, and a Bachelor’s in Animal Science with a Meat Science Minor.
She fell in love with hunter/jumpers while she was a working student off and on through high school and college. As an adult she was finally able to purchase her own horse for the sport, and she’s 100% immersed herself in this discipline over the last four years. Her and her husband reside in her hometown of Homedale where they own and operate a custom butcher shop. She shows an OTTB and has a Westfalen yearling she’s prepping for the hunter breeding. When not riding, you can find her raising livestock, milking her cows and studying bloodlines. She has a keen interest in bringing along young horses and hopes to have her own small sporthorse breeding program someday.
