The Boise Saddle and Jump Club's mission is to perpetuate the hunter/jumper discipline within Idaho and throughout the Intermountain West Region. Our Club serves our members by providing competitions, educational events, recognition and communication tools.
Founded in 1966, The Boise Saddle and Jump Club was initially named the Highland Saddle and Jump Club. Our membership has grown over the last sixty years to span across Idaho and reach into neighboring states.
Within BSJC, we promote horsemanship, education, community and a passion for the sport and our equine partners. Currently, we are the only organization dedicated to the hunter jumper community in Idaho. We are based in Boise, and have seen our Treasure Valley Classic (TVC) shows have a reach across Idaho and into all of the surrounding states. We faciliate schooling shows, clinics, and a Treasure Valley Classic show.
As a nonprofit, we exist to meet the hunter jumper community’s needs and strive to bring education and connection to our sport and operate under the guide of our Bylaws. The club generates revenue through memberships, sponsorships, and our show series. This revenue has been used to invest in our show series (i.e. new jump materials) and host events and provide scholarships for our members.
BSJC is guided by a Board of Directors. In recent years, BSJC has been growing at a rapid pace, seeing membership doubling and our reach expanding. With that, comes more opportunity and new needs. To best serve our growing community, BSJC has expanded our current operations to now include Committees.
Each Committee has a specific area of focus and is be led by a board member as its Chair. Each committee may have multiple positions if needed. The board has identified the current needs of the organization and created a set of committees and positions. As the club grows, these roles may change and evolve.
These committee positions may be filled by a member of BSJC who is aligned with our mission and ethics and is looking for a way to contribute and give back to their local equestrian community.
