BSJC Committees
BSJC has experienced rapid growth, with membership having doubled and our reach expanding. This growth brings new opportunities and evolving needs. To best serve our growing community, BSJC has expanded our operations to include Committees.
Each Committee has a specific area of focus and is led by a board member as its Chair. Multiple positions are available within each committee, depending on the need. The board has identified the current needs of the organization and established the following committees and positions. As the club continues to grow, these roles may evolve.
These committee positions are open to BSJC members in good standing who are aligned with our mission and ethics and are looking for a meaningful way to contribute to and give back to the local equestrian community.
Committee Member Requirements
Serving as a committee member for BSJC is a rewarding role that supports the club’s mission and our work in our community. As a nonprofit organization serving the equestrian community, the continued growth of BSJC depends on the dedication and skills of its committee members to advance our initiatives and programs. Key requirements include:
Commitment: A genuine passion for our cause and the ability to dedicate time and effort to our organization's success.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with board members, fellow committee members, staff, and volunteers.
Expertise: Relevant experience or skills that contribute to the committee's effectiveness in areas such as event planning, fundraising, marketing, membership engagement, or program development.
Engagement: Regular attendance at committee meetings, active participation in assigned tasks, and involvement in organizational events and initiatives.
Integrity: Upholding the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality in all committee-related matters.
Committee position applicants must be a member of BSJC in good standing, and ready to fulfill the needs of the position for the calendar year. The board reviews each application and will conduct interviews as needed to fill open committee member positions.
Committee members will be expected to attend a monthly check-in with the board, alongside completing the work associated with their position. As the needs of the organization change, all members will work collaboratively to determine a complete view of expectations and list of responsibilites for a given role.
Joining a committee at Boise Saddle & Jump Club is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help support the future of our organization and all its members. We look forward to welcoming enthusiastic and committed individuals to the team!

Horse Show Committee / Logistics Coordinator
Jenn Skeesick
Jenn grew up showing Hunters/Eq, foxhunting and learning valuable horsemanship in the horse country in the South. She graduated from Auburn University in 2003. While at Auburn, Jennifer was a member of the inaugural varsity equestrian team. She had the opportunity to ride for the team for four years and serve as the co-captain. Following undergrad, she attended Duke University and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She has worked in a variety of sports and orthopedic settings and particularly enjoys working with adaptive athletes. Jenn lives in Nampa with her awesome husband and three kids on a small farm with many creatures.

Horse Show Committee / Show Office Coordinator
Shana Campbell
Shana was 18 months old when her love affair with horses started, (thanks to her dad’s adventuresome spirit and his acquired 2 yr old Arabian colt), which led to hunter/jumper lessons as a junior rider, then showing her family’s Arabians while working for breeders and show barns. Sidelined with college, starting a family and career pursuits, she returned to her hunter/jumper roots as an older adult rider and has fond memories of her first BSJC show. BSJC afforded access to a high-quality local show experience, and Shana is passionate about continuing the tradition of offering outstanding outlets to the local hunter/jumper community. She has used her skills in business and project management to assist BSJC in the show office the last two years and looks forward to stepping up as Show Office Coordinator as part of the show committee. Shana also realized her dream career a few years ago as a Certified Equine Bodyworker, and as owner of SRC Equine Bodywork, helps many horses to feel and perform their best. In her spare time, she is having fun rehabbing her "sweet and spicy" OTTB mare as well as offering bodywork clinics to horse owners, clubs and training barns.

Horse Show Committee / Sponsorship & Clinic Coordinator
Maureen Healey
Maureen started riding as a teenager in the bay area. She migrated to hunters and jumpers, working as a groom for a hunter/jumper program showing extensively on the west coast. Stepping away from horses for many years, she had a very successful career in high tech sales. Her love of horses never went away and when she relocated to Idaho in March 2020, she was able to have horses back in her life.
Maureen’s equine partner is a five year old Zangersheide gelding, Troubadour. He is a wonderful baby horse and has her looking forward to her daily trips to the barn. When not with the horses, Maureen enjoys spending time with her husband hiking, biking, golfing, and traveling.

Membership Committee / BSJC Member Points Coordinator
Stephanie Barnes
Stephanie is a relatively new Idaho transplant, having relocated to the Wood River Valley over five years ago. She owns and operates Kingsbury Lane Farm, a boarding and hunter/jumper training facility in Bellevue, as well as Sun Valley Saddlery, the local tack shop. Originally from Seattle, Stephanie later lived in the D.C. area after graduating from Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in Romance Languages. After working for several different programs, she launched a training program in 2011 and has since worked with riders participating in both rated and local show circuits.
Stephanie aims to support the Boise Saddle & Jump Club (BSJC) by increasing opportunities for Idaho riders to connect and participate in local shows and events with their horses.
Currently residing in Hailey with her husband and two daughters, she can often be found spending spare time on the sidelines of the soccer field as a dedicated soccer mom!

Membership Committee / USHJA Points Coordinator
Kelly Mitchell
Kelly Mitchell was born and raised in Newport Rhode Island, and moved to Idaho in 1993 after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Management. An animal person at heart, Kelly’s interest in the Hunter /Jumper community came from sharing her love for animals with her daughter, Macy Mitchell. Their shared passion grew from riding and showing together, to co-owning and operating a Hunter/Jumper training and show barn; Autumn Hills Equestrian Center.in Middleton Idaho.
After 30 years in private industry, and a long search for work with purpose, Kelly was led to her current role as Senior Director of Shelter Operations and Outreach for Mountain Humane in Hailey Idaho. This rewarding work in nonprofit has given Kelly invaluable insight on the importance of volunteers and the value of relationships.
Kelly has volunteered for BSJC in previous years, and is now looking forward to sharing her horse/rider point knowledge and expertise, to help bring recognition to our local members not familiar with the external benefits of affiliate memberships, and local & national competition.

Makenah Frankamp
Makenah is a bronze medalist in dressage and former 3 day eventer/C-1 pony clubber who, after moving next to Hunter/Jumper trainer Brittany, found her love for the Hunter world. When she’s not out riding horses or working as a manager for The Human Bean, Makenah loves drawing, reading, hanging out with her dog, and writing stories.
She currently does not have a personal horse but enjoys her time with an intimate clientele teaching and riding. Her former personal-horse and heart horse, Fée, enjoys her life with one of Makenah’s students. She is excited to dive into the social media side of things in the club and help with the community as we evolve in the next coming months! She loves contributing to the community by volunteering and providing any resources needed.
