Junior Sportsmanship – Hannah Skeesick
Despite facing a challenging season after her beloved pony’s injury, this little cross-rail rider refused to let adversity dim her passion. With unwavering determination and a radiant smile, she fearlessly rode a diverse array of mounts while her pony healed, proving that her talent knows no bounds. Her remarkable resilience and positive attitude culminated in a crowning achievement as cross-rail equitation champion. Hannah’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, adaptability, and pure love for the sport.
Amateur Sportsmanship – Diane Cercle
When faced with unexpected challenges this season, Diane transformed potential setbacks into a testament of resilience. Her unwavering dedication shines through her meticulous horse care and her remarkable ability to adapt, seamlessly transitioning between mounts after her own horse was injured mid-show season. Show after show, she took whatever lease she could—some nicer than others—while maintaining her signature grace and smile. Diane doesn’t just ride; she inspires, proving that true champions are defined not by their circumstances, but by their indomitable spirit.
Parent of the Year – Jenn Skeesick
Jenn embodies the heart and soul of our equestrian community! With superhuman dedication, she masterfully balances a full-time career, coaching her daughter, managing a small farm, and supporting her children’s diverse activities. Her unwavering commitment shines through her selfless service as a committee member, show gate volunteer, and go-to helper for fellow riders. Her remarkable ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while always being ready to lend a hand makes her an inspiration to us all. Jenn doesn’t just support our community – she is the driving force that keeps our equestrian family strong, connected, and thriving!
Horse of the Year – E Quidi
E Quidi is a true equine marvel who transforms dreams into championship victories! This extraordinary partner has guided his rider from tentative 2’ courses to becoming the USHJA Zone 9 Outreach Champion, proving that kindness and talent can create magic in the show ring. With multiple 2’6” and 2’3” championships under his belt, his most remarkable quality is his unwavering commitment to nurturing and being a friend to his rider. E Quidi is not just a horse; he’s a guardian, a teacher, and a champion who reminds us that the heart of horsemanship beats in trust and connection.
Trainer of the Year – Wynn Morrow
Wynn embodies the very essence of exceptional horsemanship. She has transformed our riding community through an unwavering commitment to respect, discipline, and genuine love for the sport. Her remarkable approach goes beyond technical skills, cultivating an environment where riders not only excel in the arena but also develop profound connections with their equine partners. By championing sportsmanship and encouraging mutual support among her riders, she has elevated our club’s standards, proving that true success in equestrian sports is measured not just by ribbons, but by character, compassion, and collective growth. It wasn’t a matter of “if” Wynn would receive this award, but “when.”
Junior Scholarship – Ava Shipp
Ava is certainly saddled up for success! This straight-A student is set to ride her academic and equestrian passion all the way to Thunderbird Show Park, with aspirations to compete in prestigious medal classes. After high school, she’s looking to the future and has dreams of veterinary medicine. With her unwavering dedication in and out of the saddle, Ava is proving that young equestrians can truly turn their passion into a powerful pathway to future success!
Amatuer Scholarship – Sabrina Coles
Sabrina is a multi-talented amateur who spends her days caring for others—horse and human alike. Health is a huge focus in all she does; whether she’s treating your equine athlete with her body working business, making people comfortable during her nursing shifts, or working on her own personal fitness, she inspires all those around her to achieve more and do it with a smile.
Sabrina, we sincerely hope you’ll finally “treat” yourself with this scholarship and fulfill your equine goals!
